Wii Fit Grandma Logs 4,784 Consecutive Days In The Game

Wii Fit Grandma is still going strong after 10 years, doesn’t stop throughout the pandemic, and maintains her tremendous fitness streak.

One grandmother puts us all to shame after logging in for 4,784 consecutive days Nintendos Wii Fit. That means she has kept her fitness routine throughout the pandemic and hasn’t missed a single day logging into Wii Fit in over 10 years.

Wii Fit was a 2008 practice game for the Nintendo Wii. It requires the use of a Wii Balance Board with players standing and following the on-screen instructions. It tracks the user’s center of balance during yoga routines, weight training, aerobics, and balance games. It also works as a scale, helping users to keep track of their weight and physical fitness in-game and in the real world. Wii Fit is even used in physical therapy rehabilitation and can be found in gyms around the world. In March 2012, Wii Fit became the third-best-selling console game (not included with a console) with over 22.67 million copies sold.

The dedicated and disciplined grandma is actually the grandmother of George Perkins, the founder of Super Rare Games who specializes in special physical editions of indie Nintendo Switch games. He shares updates on his grandmother’s progress on his Twitter account, SuperRareGeorge, and continues. He previously shared with his grandma who had reached a 10-year milestone with the game, which was released in early 2009 shortly after the Wii Fit game was released a year earlier.

Nowadays, the Wii Fit Balance Board has been replaced by the Ring Fit Adventure Ring-Con for the Nintendo Switch. Whether this grandma would be interested in upgrading her setup to the next generation of practice games remains to be seen. After all, she most likely holds the record for the longest streak in Wii Fit around the world and may not want to end it with a game change.

Wii Fit Grandma isn’t the only gaming granny out there, with a grandma who has accumulated over 3,500 hours in Animal Crossing: New Leaf on the 3DS. At least that was the count in 2019. Nintendo even a character in New Horizons in recognition of her dedication to the franchise, an orange wolf villager named Audie with a funky attitude and a stylish fashion sense. Maybe This fitness-loving grandma will inspire others to dust off their Wii Fit Balance Board and indulge in the good ol ‘hard-earned sweat. But players will have a long climb to reach this grandmother’s streak.
