What Happened to Gina Krasley? The ‘My 600-lb Life’ Star Is Dead at 30

My 600-lb Life premiered on TLC in 2012 and has gained a huge following over the years. Fans love to watch the individuals who are put on the show turn into ideal weights as they embark on a year-long fitness routine to manage their obesity.

While the show was a source of entertainment and lightheartedness, some of its stars weren’t very lucky in weight management, resulting in complications and even death. The last My 600-lb Life star to die was Gina Krasley. But what happened to Krasley?

Who Was Krasley?

My 600-Lb Life fans first met Krasley in 2020 when she was 28 years old and weighed 606.7 pounds. At the time, she lived in New Jersey with her wife, sister, mother, dog, and sister’s fiancé. When she appeared on the show, Krasley shared that she was guilty of the pressure her weight was putting on her wife Beth and their marriage.

Krasley didn’t have the best childhoods as she and her sister were forced to live with their abusive father even after their parents divorced. Krasley turned her attention to eating as a coping mechanism for abuse, depression, and anxiety. She said, “What made me forget was the food. I tried to just keep eating whenever I could.

The reality star revealed she weighed 450 pounds by graduating high school and hit the 500 pound mark at 19. When she appeared on the show, Krasley was struggling to lose the prescribed 50 pounds before surgery.

Dr. Now requires his patients to take the first step in weight loss before he undergoes weight loss surgery. He gave Krasley several ways to lose weight on his own and approved her surgery at the last minute before withdrawing it after learning that Krasley had gained 13 pounds.
